Description
This lesson plan provides ideas for teaching the visual grammar of different shot types using the picture book Naturopolis by Deborah Frenkel and Ingrid Bartkawiak. The lesson plan is based on the Australian Curriculum: English Version 9 outcomes. This lesson plan specifically meets outcomes for Year 4, however, this lesson plan can be used with students from Year 2 to Year 6.
The lesson includes a planned exploration, modelling prompts, a group shared experience, independent practice and tips for assessing students’ use of this grammar element. This lesson plan is supplemented with a Powerpoint presentation, which can be used to support the teaching of shot distances.
